Salam International Youth Film Festival wraps up
The 1st Salam International Youth Film Festival was solemnly held at CinemaPlus Amburan Mall on September 2-5.
The festival was organized by Narimanfilm Studio with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Cinematographers Union, Pasha Holding LLC, etc., Trend Life reported.
The festival was attended by young people aged 13 to 17 years from 11 countries - Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Macedonia, Pakistan and India.
The festival participants watched films of world and Azerbaijani cinema together, discussed them with the participation of film professionals and determined the winners by voting as the jury.
Screenings of out-of-competition films were also presented; master classes, meetings with actors and directors were organized, among which were eminent Ayaz Salayev, Jamil Guliyev, Ilgar Safat, Rafig Aliyev, and young ones Alakbar Aliyev, Gunesh Mehdizade and others.
The young participants of the festival made twenty short films. They were awarded with diplomas and prizes. Tours and entertainment were provided for the guests.
All the teenagers who came from abroad lived in Azerbaijani families in order to learn more about the national customs and traditions of local people, to see their hospitality and establish friendly relations with their peers.
Narimanfilm Director, Honored Worker of Culture Nariman Mammadov noted that the main goal of the Salam Film Festival is to educate young people in accordance with national and universal spiritual values, establish friendly relations between young people and promote culture.
